Inter Turku Midfielder Vincent Onovo Steps Up Recovery From Fractured Foot
Published: September 27, 2015
Inter Turku midfielder Vincent Onovo, 19, is hoping to return to action in the final three games in the Veikkausliiga this term.
The hardworking player has been on the sidelines for close to six weeks after fracturing his foot in a league game against KTP, but he is on his road to recovery and could resume light training in a week’s time.
“I am better now and I think by next week I will start training, right now I am biking at the gym, ” said Vincent Onovo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Yes, I think I can play again this season. In the next two weeks I will resume full training and will be match fit.”
Inter Turku missed out on the opportunity to qualify for the next edition of the Europa League, losing 2 - 1 to Mariehamn in the Suomen Cup final on Saturday.
“That is how football is, I I think we will have to do more better in games, sometimes things go wrong.” Onovo concluded.
Before his injury-enforced absence, the Inter Turku number 4 had played 21 times in the top flight, scoring 4 goals.
