Golden Eaglets Striker Funsho Bamgboye Delighted To Be A World Champion
Published: November 11, 2015
Aspire Academy striker Funsho Bamgboye was pleased to be part of the Golden Eaglets squad that won the Fifa Under 17 World Cup for the fifth time on Sunday.
The Nigeria U17s and backroom staff arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday afternoon aboard an Emirates Airline flight from Dubai.
“It is a great feeling to be world champions. I’m happy that I have represented my country, state and family well and we can see that this has made a lot of people happy too,” Bamgboye said to thenff.com.
Perhaps if not for the suspension he was handed in games against Croatia and Mexico, the attacker would have been involved in more than five matches at the World Cup.
After working hard in attack, Bamgboye finally hit target in the Golden Eaglets 2 - 0 win over Mali in the final.
