Nosa Igiebor Happy To Be In Tip - Top Condition
Published: November 19, 2015Nosa Igiebor is now in tip - top condition after picking up a knee injury in a Champions League clash against Basel and has admitted that he was emotional watching his Maccabi Tel Aviv teammates play from the stands.
“When you’re in good shape and been wounded, broken for you the momentum and it’s hard, ” Nosa Igiebor was quoted as saying by Sports Walla.
“I was sitting in the stands and seeing my friends on the pitch. I was shouting to them from outside, but they did a good job without me. Anyway, I’m glad it’s behind me and I got to play.”
With the Israeli champions challenging for honours on three fronts , the attacking midfielder says the fixture congestion is taking its toll on the players, stressing that Hapoel Be’er Sheva top the league because they are not involved in as many games.
“There is a price that we play in the Champions League. See it. We are human beings, it affects us. There are a lot of injuries this season because of national team games.
“Hapoel Beer Sheva? The truth is the best team in the league at this stage of the season. But we must not forget, they are not playing in the Champions League, so they are more relaxed. They have one game a week, and that’s it.”
Of a possible 10 games, Nosa Igiebor has played only twice in the Premier League and this is complemented by the 8 games under his belt in the Champions League group stage and qualifying rounds.
