Siasia Warns Dream Team Not To Repeat Defensive Mistakes Against Egypt
Published: December 01, 2015
Coach Samson Siasia says the Nigeria Under 23s were lucky to pick up three points against Mali on Sunday and has advised his players to learn from their mistakes against the West Africans when they face Egypt on Wednesday in M’bour.
Nigeria will qualify for the semi - finals with one game to spare if they defeat the North Africans tomorrow at the Caroline Faye Stadium, M’Bour, and the former Nantes forward has urged his team to continue their attacking philosophy.
“We were damn lucky in our first game against Mali after watching that game again ,” said Samson Siasia.
“All I can say is that this is not Christmas yet and as such my players can not give out free gifts, because if we do that against an organized side like Egypt who are good in set pieces, then we are finished.
“Our target tomorrow is to go all out and attack, attack, attack, because that is our strong point, then we will work on our defence line, so that we don’t give out cheap and easy passes to our opponents.”
The game between the Dream Team VI and Egypt will begin at 1845 hours Nigerian time on Wednesday.
