Nigeria Rising Star Umar Aminu Ready For Fenerbahce Test
Published: April 02, 2016
Super Eagles midfielder Umar Aminu is hoping Osmanlıspor would get at least a draw when they trade tackles with Fenerbahçe S.K. in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday evening.
Aminu has let bygones be bygones vis-a-vis Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2017 African Cup of Nations following their 1-0 loss to Egypt and quickly hopped on a plane to Ankara immediately after the contest in Alexandria.
“I returned to Turkey immediately after the game and I have been training with Osmanlıspor since Wednesday, same day I got to Turkey, ” said Umar Aminu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“As a matter of principle, I don’t give predictions before games. I will only say no team would want to lose except to win but a draw wouldn’t be a bad one either(against Fenerbahce). ”
In the first round of the league, the former Flying Eagles star went the distance at the Osmanlı Stadı as Osmanlıspor suffered a 1-0 loss to the Yellow Canaries.
Aminu,21, has notched 6 goals (4 assists) from 21 games in the top-flight this season.
