Granada Sporting Director Still Deliberating Whether To Release Isaac Success For Olympic Games
Published: April 20, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Granada sporting director Juan Carlos Cordero is still deliberating whether or not to release Isaac Success to the Nigeria U23s for the Olympic Games in Rio, as things stand.
His decision is not straightforward as the striker could sever all ties with the Andalusian outfit before the start of the competition in August, meaning he will have to pass the buck to the player’s new employer.
Success, a former Nigeria U17 and U20 international, is widely regarded as one of the top talents in his homeland but is yet to kick-start his career at U23 level because Granada have refused to give their nod for him to travel to Africa when called up by the coaches.
Only last November, the Nigeria Football Federation replaced the 20-year-old with Victor Osimhen days leading up to the start of the Africa U23 Cup of Nations, with Granada playing hardball over his release.
The former Golden Eaglets star is being linked with a move to sister club Watford in the summer.
