Intermediary Confirms Talks With Trabzonspor Over Signing Of Onazi
Published: April 23, 2016
Nigerian-based intermediary Ifeanyi Igwenjoku has confirmed that Trabzonspor are one of the clubs based in Turkey exploring ways to sign Lazio midfielder Eddy Onazi in the summer.
It has been widely reported that the Nigeria international is seeking greener pastures because he has fallen down the pecking order of midfielders at the Biancocelesti.
“Onazi is aware that we are negotiating a deal for him in Turkey and China and we have negotiated a salary with him,” said Ifeanyi Igwenjoku to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“For now we are still negotiating with Trabzonspor, no agreement has been reached yet because he is not a free player, the club have to pay a transfer fee which is a bit high.
“When I am done with the club and a fee accepted by Lazio, then we go forward, for now nothing has been agreed.”
The 23-year-old Onazi has been on the books of Lazio since 2011 and was linked with possible moves to Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Panathinaikos prior to his arrival in the Italian capital.
