Super Eagles watch: Onuachu 18-minute hat-trick inspires comeback; Osimhen spot on; Lookman on fire

Allnigeriasoccer.com's review of the Nigerian internationals who were on target for their respective European clubs in league matches on Sunday, April 28, 2024.

At Papara Park, Paul Onuachu put in his best performance in a Trabzonspor shirt after his 18-minute hat-trick inspired Trabzonspor to a 4-2 home win versus Gaziantep FK in the Turkish Super Lig.

With Trabzonspor trailing by two goals, the Southampton loanee pulled one back with a thunderous effort from inside the box four minutes after the restart, and turned from scorer to provider in the 65th minute when he set up the equalizer netted by Enis Bardhi.

Onuachu grabbed his second of the game at minute 66 and two minutes later, he was celebrating his first treble in Trabzonspor colours.

The FC Ebedei product has been involved in sixteen goals (12 goals, 4 assists) in eighteen games in the Super Lig.

In the Italian Serie A, Victor Osimhen's fourteenth goal of the season in the Serie A was not enough for Napoli to secure all three point,  with Roma striker Tammy Abraham replying with a headed goal two minutes from time.

Around the hour mark , Renato Sanches clearly caught the calf of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and the referee pointed to the spot following a VAR review.

Osimhen fired his penalty down the middle to give Napoli a 2-1 lead but their joy was short-lived.

Elsewhere in the division, 2023 Africa Cup of Nations star Ademola Lookman continued his rich vein of form by closing the scoring for Atalanta in a 2-0 win over Empoli at Gewiss Stadium.

Five minutes into the second half, Lookman managed to squeeze his shot under goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi after a run down the left.

Since the beginning of April, the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup winner has directly participated in six goals (2 goals, 4 assists) in seven outings for the Nerazzurri.
