Rabiu Ibrahim On Target For Trencin In Loss To Spartak Trnava
Published: May 02, 2016
Super Eagles midfielder Rabiu Ibrahim’s goal could not prevent Slovakian champs AS TrenÄín from losing 3-1 to FC Spartak Trnava in the Fortuna League on Monday.
AS TrenÄín were 2-0 down at the end of the first half but their Nigerian star reduced the deficit in the 53rd minute to give them hope which ended when Ivan Schranz restored Spartak Trnava’s two-goal cushion 12 minutes later.
The goalkeeper had no chance to stop the ball after Rabiu Ibrahim was teed up by compatriot Samuel Kalu who was introduced just before the start of the second half.
Super Eagles left-back Kingsley Madu featured for the entirety of the contest while Aliko Bala was an unused substitute.
Despite the loss, AS Trencin still top the standings with 72 points garnered after 30 rounds.
