Aaron Samuel Set To Miss Super Eagles Friendlies After Damaging Knee Ligaments
Published: May 03, 2016
Aaron Samuel is a huge doubt for the Super Eagles upcoming friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg after damaging the front and right side of the knee ligaments during Monday’s loss to Zenit St. Petersburg in the Russian Cup final.
According to the official webpage of the Army Men, the Nigeria international has been assigned to arthroscopic treatment and the numbers of weeks he is expected to spend on the sidelines will be announced later.
The Guangzhou R&F loanee had to be substituted six minutes before the break after he landed awkwardly on his knee, shortly after he had restored parity for CSKA Moscow.
Aaron Samuel’s loan deal with CSKA Moscow will run out at the end of May but it is understood that preliminary talks over the permanent signing of the striker have taken place.
