Premier League Wrap : Ighalo Back On The Goal Trail; Mikel Deployed In Central Defense;Tomori Makes Chelsea Bench

Catch up on the performances of players of Nigerian descent in the English Premier League on Wednesday night.

Odion Ighalo took to the field for the 36th time as Watford lost 4-2 to Norwich City at Carrow Road. The Hornets number 24 registered his name on the score sheet in the 51st minute, his first goal in the topflight since hitting target against Newcastle United in January.

The Super Eagles star and Scotland international of Nigerian descent Ikechi Anya clocked up ninety minutes .

England midfielder Ross Barkley played for 45 minutes for  Everton as they lost 3-0 to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

At Anfield, Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel started and completed the match for Chelsea, who drew 1-1 with Liverpool.

Canada U20 international Fikayo Tomori made the Blues’ 18-man squad for the first time in his career but was not given a run-out, while Liverpool young star Sheyi Ojo remained on the bench until the 87th minute.

England U21 international Jordon Ibe was not involved for the Reds.
