Revealed : New Roda Signing Ajagun Turned Down Chance To Represent Nigeria At Olympics
Published: July 14, 2016
It has come to light that Abdul Ajagun turned down an opportunity to represent the Nigeria U23s at the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Allnigeriasoccer.com broke the news in April that the former Dolphins star was being considered for the Games, and Eredivisie side Roda JC confirmed as much during his unveiling on Wednesday.
“The midfielder is currently selected for the Nigerian Olympic team but does not go to Rio to focus entirely on Roda JC Kerkrade,” Roda claimed on their official webpage.
Abdul Ajagun, 23, will remain at the Parkstad Limburg Stadion outfit on loan from Panathinaikos until the end of the 2016-2017 campaign.
He has been handed the number 14 shirt for next season.
