Manchester City Wonderkid Kelechi Iheanacho Still Wearing The Number 72 Shirt
Published: July 22, 2016
Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to change his shirt number at Manchester City ahead of the resumption of the Premier League, amid wild speculations that he asked for the number nine kit.
The number nine jersey was up for grabs but has been handed to new signing Nolito, while Argentina star Sergio Aguero is certain to retain his number ten shirt.
When the Nigeria international stepped out onto the Allianz-Arena (München) turf on Wednesday night, he wore the number 72 kit.
Per the official website of UEFA, the number 2, 12, 19 and 24 jerseys are among the vacant numbers at City if we use 25 as the cut-off, and it remains to be seen if Iheanacho would be allocated one of those numbers when the club announce their squad numbers for the 2016-2017 campaign.
The Taye Academy product officially arrived the Etihad Stadium two years after starring at the 2013 Fifa Under 17 World Cup.
