The Nigeria Football Federation have made a move to secure the international future of highly-rated Norwich City attacking midfielder Diallang Jaiyesimi ahead of England.
Born in England, Jaiyesimi was linked with a plethora of teams in the Premier League before committing his future to the Canaries until the summer of 2018 in January.
The 17-year-old has been tipped to break into the first team of the Championship side in the near future, and is currently training with the Under-23s in pre-season, playing the last 28 minutes of their 3-0 win over FC Slovacko on Friday.
“ Jaiyesimi is a Nigerian and he has been approached to play for Nigeria, ” Team Nigeria UK boss Doherty, who is an expert on Nigerian youngsters based in England, told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“He is available to play for Nigeria if called upon. With consistency in his performance, he can break into the first team of Norwich.”
Jaiyesimi began his career at the ASPIRE Academy and played a number of games for the first team of Dulwich Hamlet before his move to NR1 1JE.
