Fanendo Adi Becomes First Portland Timbers Player To Score 15 Goals In Multiple SeasonsNigerian striker Fanendo Adi notched his 15th goal of the season across all competitions in Portland Timbers’s 4-2 loss to Deportivo Saprissa in the CONCACAF Champions League on Wednesday night.

The 25-year-old’s 68th minute goal was his third strike in the competition, having registered his name on the scorecard twice against Alpha United back in 2014.

In addition, the official website of Portland Timbers has reported that Adi is the first player to score competitive goals in four different countries for the club, scoring in the United States, Canada, Guyana and Costa Rica.

The Nigerian is also the first player to score 15 goals in more than one season since the formation of the club in 1975.

Former USA youth-teamer Amobi Okugo was an unused substitute against the team from Costa Rica, while new signing Gbenga Arokoyo did not make the squad.
