Former Barcelona Stars Backing Zambia To Beat Nigeria On Sunday
Published: October 07, 2016
Former Barcelona star Rayco Garcia is backing the Zambia national team to beat Nigeria when the former African champions face off in Ndola in two days time.
Speaking at a ceremony last week, Garcia has tipped the Chipolopolo to qualify for their first World Cup in 2018 if they register wins in their three home matches and draw their away matches.
“Zambia needs to win all the home games and record draw in away ties.”
The former Barca attacking midfielder urged the Zambian players to have the belief they can overcome their group opponents, including Nigeria.
“Self-belief is vital when aiming for a tough target. The team needs to have the belief that they can overcome Algeria, Nigeria and Cameroon. It is very possible because Zambia has so much talent,” he said.
Retired Barcelona winger Ludovic Giuly added that Zambia will soon achieve their dream of qualifying for the World Cup.
He said : “I believe Zambia can achieve more. They just have to instill a positive character and work hard to achieve the dream.”
