Published: October 16, 2016
Sone Aluko was delighted to end his goal drought in Fulham’s entertaining 4-2 victory over Barnsley in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Before finding the back of the net at Oakwell, the Super Eagles striker cum winger had not scored for the London club since August 13 when he registered his name on the scorecard in the 33rd minute against Preston North End.
The former Hull City star was in the Fulham side that suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Nedum Onuoha’s Queens Park Rangers before the international break, with the visitors scoring the game-winner in the 87th minute.
The Fulham number 24 said on social media : What a contrast. The joy of scoring and the win today compared to the final whistle 2 weeks ago. #PrayedForThatFeelingFor2Weeks #ThankYouJesus.”
Aluko, 27, penned a two-year contract with the Cottagers in July following his release by the Tigers at the end of the 2015-2016 campaign.
