Golden Eaglets Graduate In Line To Face Barcelona In Champions League
Published: October 18, 2016
Kelechi Iheanacho is in line to face Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night at the Camp Nou.
The Nigeria international was one of the 21 players summoned for the trip by City manager Pep Guardiola, but it remains unclear whether or not he will be handed a starting shirt with Argentina star Aguero also in the traveling party to Spain.
Iheanacho has never competed against Barcelona since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, and was not selected when they traded tackles with the La Liga champs in February 2015, a month after his deal with Man City was confirmed.
The 20-year-old has six games under his belt in the Champions League, and opened his account against Borussia Mönchengladbach a month ago.
The Golden Eaglets graduate has scored five goals in eleven matches for club and country this season.
