Exciting Nigerian Teenager Scores Against Man City On Everton Debut
Published: January 15, 2017
Manchester City missed the opportunity to close the gap on Chelsea following their 4-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
England U20 star of Nigerian descent Ademola Lookman, the winger cum striker signed from Charlton Athletic earlier this month, was introduced in the 90th minute, and it took him only five minutes to register his first goal for the Toffees.
The 19-year-old fired the ball straight through goalkeeper Claudio Bravo’s legs to score Everton’s fourth goal.
It was advantage Everton at the break, thanks to Lukaku’s eleventh goal of the season eleven minutes shy of half-time.
Man City had a mountain to climb two minutes after the restart when Mirallas dispatched his effort after he was set up by Ross Barkley.
It became worse for the visitors on 79 minutes when Davies scored his first goal in Everton colours, he started a move before finishing it off beautifully.
Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho was introduced in the 62nd minute but did not get the service he would have liked.
