Published: January 18, 2017
Title contenders S.V. Zulte Waregem have beaten several clubs to seal a deal with Slovakian club AS Trencin to sign highly-rated 19-year-old pacy left winger Aliko Bala who was recently officially named by the Fortuna Liga alongside KAA Gent’s new signing Samuel Kalu as one of the best top talents in Slovakia.
Zulte Waregem currently occupy the third position of the Belgian First Division A table and have also qualified for the semifinals of the Belgian cup.
Thus, experienced coach Francky Dury is further reinforcing his in-form team with the addition of the Nigerian winger.
Standing at 6ft tall, the explosive winger has frightening speed and acceleration accompanied with dribbling ability to give defenders nightmares. In a total of 42 appearances Aliko scored 8 goals for AS Trencin.
A product of the famous GBS academy Nigeria, Aliko will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow GBS academy tricky winger Moses Simon who instantly became a big hit in the Belgian top flight after joining KAA Gent from AS Trencin.
Aliko, who has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal, will be teaming up with 20-year-old Nigerian international Kingsley Madu who is currently on the books of Zulte Waregem.
The deal was brokered by renowned English-based agent Tony Harris, who also handles the affairs of Leicester City star Ahmed Musa.
