Official : Shenzhen FC Announce Capture Of Ex-Sunderland Target Obasi
Published: February 04, 2017
Chinese League One club Shenzhen FC have officially announced with pride the signing of Nigeria international Chinedu Obasi.
Though the duration of the contract Obasi signed was not disclosed, it is understood he will remain with the team coached by Sven-Goran Eriksson until the end of the 2017 campaign.
The 30-year-old Obasi numbers Lyn Oslo, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Schalke 04 and AIK among his former clubs.
Swedish Allsvenskan side AIK wanted to prolong his stay in Stockholm but he preferred a move to China, where he is certain of earning higher wages.
Sunderland offered a trial to Obasi in October 2015 but nothing came out of it.
