Chelsea's Nigerian Wonderkid Takes Season Tally To 23 With Brace Vs Everton
Published: April 21, 2017
Nigerian wonderkid Ike Ugbo took his season tally to 23 after netting a brace in Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Everton in Premier League 2 on Friday night at Electrical Services Stadium.
Against the run of play, the 18-year-old broke the deadlock when his deflected effort beat the Toffees goalkeeper.
Sambou and Walsh scored to give the visitors a one-goal advantage, but Ugbo restored parity on the hour mark, firing into the far corner from distance.
Few minutes later, he had an opportunity to bag a hat-trick but failed to connect an inviting cross from Mount.
Ugbo scored two goals each in the U18 Premier League and EFL Trophy, 9 in the FA Youth Cup and 10 of his strikes were in Premier League 2.
With one round left, Everton would have been crowned champions of Premier League 2 if they had beaten Chelsea tonight, but they were denied by Ike Ugbo.
