The MLS Players Union announced a list of 2017 player salaries in the American top flight on Tuesday, April 25.
Portland Timbers star Fanendo Adi claimed the title of highest-paid player of Nigerian descent in Major League Soccer, with guaranteed salaries (including bonuses) of $1,736,254.00 a year.
In American terms, Adi is the only millionaire on the list as the second top earner Maurice Edu of Philadelphia Union pockets $818,750.00 per season.
Quincy Amarikwa comes in at third position, earning $270,166.67, ahead of Nigeria international Sunday Stephen and Amobi Okugo who complete the top five.
The least paid Nigerian player in MLS is New York City FC striker Sean Okoli who makes $52,999.92 in total compensation.
