Tammy Abraham Ranked Chelsea's Top Player, Super Eagles Star Omeruo Ninth
Published: April 26, 2017
England U21 international of Nigerian descent Tammy Abraham has been rated the top Chelsea player loaned out this season.
Squawka.com has ranked all the 37 players on loan based on their performances for their temporary clubs, and three players of Nigerian descent made their list.
Current Chelsea Academy Player of the Year Fikayo Tomori ranked 19th on the list. The central defender or full back joined Premier League new boys Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window and has featured in seven games.
In ninth position is Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo, who has flourished in the Turkish Super Lig with Alanyaspor, where he has made 22 appearances.
Of the three Nigerian players mentioned, he is the only one yet to debut for the first team of Chelsea. Omeruo ranked higher than Ghanaian stars Christian Atsu and Baba Rahman.
The top dog is Bristol City striker Tammy Abraham. The tall striker is the second top scorer in the Championship with 23 goals to his name.
Abraham could be playing in the Premier League next season, perhaps not with Chelsea, as Newcastle United, Everton and Leicester City are keeping tabs on his availability.
