Iwobi Benched, Ndidi Stars As Champions League Regulars Arsenal Grind Out Win

Arsenal continued their push for a top four spot with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over defending champions Leicester City at the Emirates on Wednesday night.
Hale End Academy graduate Alex Iwobi watched proceedings from the bench for the entirety of the game, while Super Eagles teammate Wilfred Ndidi was at the heart of the Foxes midfield.
The first half ended goalless but the Gunners came closest to scoring when Sanchez produced a bit of magic before striking the crossbar with almost the last kick of the half.
On 54 minutes, goalkeeper Cech had to be alert to save a header from Ndidi after the Nigerian met Fuchs' long throw, and a minute later a crucial touch from Huth stopped the ball from getting to Sanchez.
Arsenal continued to search for a winning goal and almost got it 13 minutes after the restart, but Schmeichel got a hand to Xhaka's deflected 20-yard shot.
It looked like one of those frustrating days for Arsene Wenger's team but their perseverance paid off, as Monreal took aim and the ball deflected off Huth for the game winner on 86 minutes.
