Five Nigerian Stars Set To Miss Out On Premier League Winners Medal For Chelsea
Published: May 11, 2017
Super Eagles invitee Ola Aina risks missing out on a Premier League winners medal if he is snubbed by manager Antonio Conte for Friday's crucial meeting against West Brom at The Hawthorns.
To receive a winners medal, a player needs to appear in 5 matches in a title-winning season, including substitute appearances.
Aina has made two appearances in the English top-flight, versus Leicester City and Bournemouth, and needs to get some game time in the Blues final three matches of the season to be eligible.
As for Nigeria star Victor Moses, the right fullback has racked up 32 appearances since the start of the season and is guaranteed a winners medal.
England youth internationals of Nigerian descent Fikayo Tomori and Dominic Solanke will not receive a winners medal as they have not appeared for the first team this term.
And the same goes for Super Eagles stars John Obi Mikel and Kenneth Omeruo.
