Why Chelsea Stopped Ex-England U19 Skipper Aina From Joining Super Eagles Camp On Sunday
Published: May 29, 2017
Former England U19 skipper Ola Aina has not yet showed up at the Super Eagles hotel, Hyatt Regency, Paris, two days after the Emirates FA Cup final between Chelsea and Arsenal, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The versatile defender had to postpone his trip to the French capital because of Chelsea's End of Season Awards gala that took place at Battersea Evolution in London on Sunday night.
The ever smiling Ola Aina was suited as he arrived for the event along with other Chelsea first team players and officials, including Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo.
Fifa has not given clearance to the Londoner to switch allegiance to Nigeria, twelve days before the African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo, when the Nigeria Football Federation plan to cap-tie him.
A top source close to Aina and Iwobi says he expects both players to arrive the Super Eagles get-together on Monday.
