African Maradona Expects Chelsea Dazzler Moses, Arsenal's Iwobi To Torment South Africa
Published: May 30, 2017
Former Nigeria international Etim Esin, fondly known as African Maradona, has picked three Super Eagles stars he believes can make all the difference when the national team face South Africa a week on Saturday in an African Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles, three-time African champs, missed out on the last two editions of Africa's flagship competition, and are taking the bull by the horns this time around in their bid to qualify for the tournament in Cameroon.
Coach Gernot Rohr is presently running the rule over some fresh invitees like Alhassan Ibrahim, Stephen Odey, Henry Onyekuru and Mikel Agu at a training camp in Paris.
''I'm happy new players were given the chance to play for the Super Eagles,'' said Etim Esin to Brila FM.
''South Africa are more organized when it comes to preparations. It'll be a bad omen to miss out on another African Cup of Nations.
''Victor Moses is in my top list. Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho are the players we can look to.''
German tactician Rohr is expected to name his final squad for the AFCON qualifier against Bafana Bafana before the end of this week.
