Wolfsburg's Osimhen On The Cusp Of Making History Sends Message To Nigerians
Published: May 31, 2017
Wolfsburg striker Victor Osimhen has joined the Super Eagles in their training camp in Paris ahead of Thursday's international friendly against Togo at the Stade Municipal de Saint Leu La Foret.
The former Golden Eaglets star has a good chance to become the first player of Nigerian descent born in 1998 to debut for the senior national team, bearing it in mind Stephen Odey (born January 15 1998) did not collect any cap when he appeared against Corsica last week because they are a regional side.
''Hi Nigerians, I am here in the Super Eagles camp. I am here to give my best and work hard for the good of the team,'' Osimhen said in a short clip uploaded by the Nigeria Football Federation.
Born December 29, 1998, Osimhen was first called up to the Super Eagles for their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.
The Ultimate Strikers product has caps for Nigeria at U17, U20 and U23 level.
