Man Of The Moment Lookman : Always Been My Dream To Represent England At World Cup
Published: June 01, 2017
Everton wonderkid Ademola Lookman is still basking in the euphoria of netting his first pair of goals in a Fifa tournament, and has revealed that it was his dream to represent England at the World Cup.
The former Charlton Athletic star has dazzled in South Korea, and was unfortunate not to bag his first brace of the tournament in the win over the hosts, having hit the woodwork not once but twice.
“In the last game I hit the post twice, so it was good to get the two goals. The most important thing though is that we won, so I’m happy,” Lookman told thefa.com.
“This is the second biggest tournament in the world, so to be a part of it is a dream come true.
“Things have happened quickly for me. The past six months I’ve been learning in a new team [Everton] and a new environment. Given time I think I will get better as a player and hopefully I can keep scoring goals.”
Prior to his brace against Costa Rica on Wednesday, Lookman's only goal for England U20s was in an international friendly against Germany in October 2016.
