GK Daniel Akpeyi Lands In Lagos, Not In Super Eagles Traveling Party To Uyo
Published: June 05, 2017
Daniel Akpeyi will not travel with the Super Eagles squad to the Akwa Ibom State capital on Monday, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The Chippa United netminder jetted into the country from South Africa this past weekend, and it doesn't make sense for him to fly to Abuja, from where the team will proceed to Uyo today.
Though they have their own traveling arrangements, Akpeyi and CD Feirense midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo will link up with the squad from Lagos in the coming hours.
It is understood that Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is presently in Abuja and will have no problem joining the traveling party.
A number of players did not return with the team on Friday due to Elderson Echiejile's wedding and the Champions League final held in Cardiff, an event UEFA invited the Nigerian Federation to witness.
