Super Eagles trainee Chuba Akpom has all but been ruled out of contention for Sunday's Community Shield showdown between Arsenal and Chelsea at the National Stadium in London.
The former England U20 sensation did not train with other members of the Gunners first team on Thursday.
Akpom had to be substituted in the first half of Arsenal XI's 5-1 win over Leyton Orient on Tuesday due to injury, and is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Arsenal number seventeen Alex Iwobi is expected to get some minutes against the Premier League champions, while Kelechi Nwakali has not been registered and will definitely not feature.
Chelsea's right wing-backs Victor Moses and Fikayo Tomori are in good physical condition and available for selection.
