Nigerian Striker Poised To End 15-Year Association With Arsenal As Leeds & Celtic Weigh Up Bid
Published: August 21, 2017
Championship club Leeds United and Scottish champions Celtic are battling for the signature of Nigeria Football Federation target Chuba Akpom, according to Daily Star's Adrian Kajumba.
The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger recently stated that he wants to trim down his squad before making any further signings.
Akpom is among the fringe players in Arsenal's ranks set for the exit door as he did not figure for the first team in pre-season and has not been considered for competitive fixtures since the start of the new season.
The Hale End Academy product has made only ten appearances for the Emirates outfit since he broke into the first team, and has been farmed out on loan to Brentford, Coventry, Nottingham Forest, Hull and Brighton.
Leeds United and Celtic want to sign Chuba Akpom on a permanent deal.
