Chelsea Loanee Ugbo Scores First Professional Goal For Barnsley
Published: August 27, 2017
Chelsea loanee Ike Ugbo, 18, scored his maiden professional goal in Barnsley's 3-0 rout of Sunderland in the latest round of matches played in the EFL Championship.
Nineteen days ago, the prolific striker thought he had opened his account for the Reds in their 4-3 win over Morecambe in the opening round of the Caraboa Cup, but it was later deemed to be an own goal by Mitchell Lund.
But Ugbo was not denied on Saturday when he opened the scoring in the 31st minute, before providing the assist for his team's third goal in the 67th minute.
An excited Ugbo posted on social media after the game at Oakwell Stadium : ''Great win today vs Sunderland 🙌🏾Buzzing to get my first professional goal🙏🏾#TheUgz #youreds''.
The number nineteen was in action for 72 minutes against Sunderland, who were without the injured ex-Super Eagles invitee Josh Maja.
