(Photo Confirmation): Chelsea's Nigerian Target Completes Move To The Reds
Published: November 05, 2017
Through a statement on their official website, EFL Championship club Barnsley have announced the signing of Nigerian-born striker Victor Adeboyejo following a successful trial.
Before Adeboyejo penned a three-year deal with The Reds on Saturday, he had been linked with possible moves to Premier League giants Chelsea, Portsmouth, Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday.
Although the transfer window is closed for business, Barnsley have completed the signing of the talented Nigerian because he was a free agent as at August 31, 2017.
Barnsley U23 coach Paul Harsley said to the club's official website: ''Victor is a player we have all really pushed to get into the Club so we’re delighted he’s chosen to join us.
''He’s full of pace, power and most importantly determination to do well. He’s a handful for defenders and has shown that during the games he was on trial with us.
''Those matches have helped immensely in the fact he’s coming back into a group he has already managed to meet and play with.''
The 19-year-old Adeboyejo previously defended the colours of Arsenal, AFC Wimbledon, Charlton Athletic, Leyton Orient, Royston Town, Hemel Hempstead Town and Soham Town Rangers.
