Rohr Taunts Algerians: I'm Leaving, I've Already Qualified
Published: November 10, 2017
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr spoke for few minutes during Thursday's press conference after the national team arrived in Constantine.
Asked about his thoughts on today's game, Rohr told Le Buteur :''It's going to be a good match, I guess. It will allow us to see at work some players who have not played much before.
''We have a lot of injuries and that will give others the chance to shine. We come with the goal of getting a good result against a very strong Algerian selection and who will do their best to win. There is also an important factor to consider.
''The Algerian selection has changed coach and we all know that when there is a change to the technical staff, the trigger follows automatically.
''In addition to that, it should be noted that the Algerian selection has in its ranks players of great value, who play for the most part in the biggest European leagues.''
Following a couple of questions, Rohr interrupted the journalists, saying : ''I'm leaving the conference, I'm already qualified (for the World Cup)''.
Although Rohr might have been joking, his comments did not go down well with the reporters present, and they blasted him for taunting the Algerian national team.
