Arsenal Goalkeeper Of Nigerian Descent Okonkwo Earns Rave Reviews In England U17 Debut

For the first time in his career, Arsenal schoolboy Arthur Okonkwo pulled on an England jersey at U17 level with the number 13 at its back as the Young Lions came from behind to beat Russia 2-1 in Burton on Saturday.
The highly-rated young goalkeeper had appeared for England at U15 and U16 level before he was handed his England U17 debut by Steve Cooper.
According to the match report by the English FA on its official website Okonkwo put up a commanding performance.
England would have conceded for the second time in the fifth minute but he saved an effort from Kutovoi.
Krasnodar forward Maksim Kutovoi converted a spot kick to give the visitors the lead in the opening minute.
Chelsea's Clinton Mola equalised in emphatic fashion in the 49th minute, before Manchester United's Mason Greenwood made it 2-1 seven minutes later.
Arthur Okonkwo was an unused substitute in England's 3-2 win over Portugal on November 8.
The 16-year-old has trained with Arsenal's first team at least two times in the 2017-2018 season.
