Ex-Chelsea Chief Emenalo Has Harsh Words For NFF Over Hiring Of Sunday Oliseh
Published: November 12, 2017
Ex-Chelsea Technical Director Michael Emenalo has revealed that he was not surprised to see Sunday Oliseh resign from his position as Head Coach of the Super Eagles in February 2016.
Emenalo has taken a dig at Amaju Pinnick, saying the former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder was appointed coach without the Nigeria Football Federation supremo given the chance to other candidates to apply for the vacant job.
''I saw it coming, the way he came in, no interview, no advertisement of the coaching vacancy,'' Emenalo told Brila FM.
''Amaju (NFF president) just went to London and all we saw was himself taking selfies with Oliseh and we were told behold a new Super Eagles coach.
''I wasn’t surprised at all (he eventually quit).''
Oliseh, who had penned a three-year deal to manage the senior national team, lasted seven months in the job.
He was a teammate of Michael Emenalo at the 1994 World Cup hosted by the United States.
