Half-Time Report Argentina 2 Nigeria 1 : Iheanacho Scores A Beautiful Free-Kick
Published: November 14, 2017
Goals from Ever Banega and Sergio Aguerro have given Argentina a 2-1 half-time lead over Nigeria in an international friendly match at Stadion FK Krasnodar (Krasnodar)
The Super Eagles showed great spirit and grabbed a soul lifting goal thanks to Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Despite resting Barcelona star Leo Messi, Argentina looked a threat from the first whistle with Manchester City forward Aguero at the heart of their offense.
The striker came close from scoring following a neat interchange from the left.
The inevitable opener came in the 27th minute when Banega scored from a free kick.
Aguerro found the net himself soon after beating goalkeeping Daniel Akpeyi with his effort.
Nigeria tried to attack and got their effort rewarded thanks to Iheanacho's brilliant free-kick on the stroke of half time.
The goal will give the three time African champions belief in the second half.
