Tyronne Ebuehi: I Stood My Ground Against Di Maria, Swaps Jerseys With Dybala
Published: November 17, 2017
ADO Den Haag right back Tyronne Ebuehi was happy with his performance against Argentina in Russia on Tuesday evening, having won a personal duel against ex-Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria.
Ebuehi was one of the players that changed the game following his introduction in the 46th minute as replacement for Abdullahi Shehu.
''I played against Angel Di Maria, a great player of course, and I can not quite realize that I can play against him,'' Ebuehi told ADO Den Haag TV, according to voetbalprimeur.nl.
"Defensively, I stood my ground, and offensively I tried to do as much as possible, and it all went well, I think."
Ebuehi has revealed that he had wanted to exchange jerseys with the Paris Saint-Germain star but ended up swapping with Juventus striker Paulo Dybala.
''I have Paulo Dybala's, which makes me happy. If I'm honest, I really wanted Di Maria's shirt, but he was already in. But I'm going to frame the Dybala shirt anyway.''
Born in Haarlem, Netherlands 21 years ago, Ebuehi's appearance against the two-time world champions in Krasnodar was his second game for the Super Eagles.
