Super Eagles To Pocket N16.2M Each If They Win All Their Group Matches At World Cup
Published: November 17, 2017
The Nigeria Football Federation are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for the Super Eagles to be successful at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and have significantly increased their bonuses for the mundial.
A day before Nigeria faced Argentina in an international friendly in Krasnodar, Nigeria Football Federation higher-ups held a meeting with the players and an agreement was reached as regards to match bonuses, allowances and qualification bonuses.
''This new bonus is a 50% improvement from what was paid out as win bonus at the last World Cup in Brazil, where a player was paid $10,000 for a win in the first round,'' wrote scorenigeria.com.ng.
''The players will earn more for the later rounds of the tournament.''
Each player will pocket $15,000 for every win in the group stage of the World Cup, meaning their bank accounts will be credited with the sum of $45,000 (N16.2 million each), assuming they win all their three group games in Russia.
The Nigeria Football Federation have offered to pay Gernot Rohr double the bonuses received by the players.
