New Eagles Star Ebuehi: Rohr Told Me I Will Not Start Against Argentina
Published: November 17, 2017
ADO Den Haag right back Tyronne Ebuehi has revealed that he was aware of the fact that he won't be starting Tuesday's showcase friendly against Argentina in Krasnodar, Southern Russia.
This website understands that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr already informed the players in the days leading up to the World Cup qualifier against Algeria that they will be included in the starting eleven against the South Americans, the likes of Daniel Akpeyi, Chidozie Awaziem and John Obi Mikel, who were unused substitutes against the Desert Foxes.
Rohr hardly changes the starting line-up he used in the final training session before a game, and Ebuehi saw the handwriting on the wall when he trained with the Team B on Monday evening.
''I was disappointed not to start against Argentina, but the coach came to me before the game telling me I won’t be starting but will be coming in the second half,'' a delighted Ebuehi told ADO Den Haag TV.
''It was great that the team won and an honor to come face to face with Di Maria because he is an excellent player.''
The 21-year-old Ebuehi has started all the eleven matches contested by ADO Den Haag in the Dutch Eredivisie this season, ahead of Sunday's clash against Heracles.
