Anderlecht Advised To Buy Another Striker: Onyekuru Belongs To Everton
Published: December 12, 2017
Belgian First Division A champs Anderlecht have been advised to scour the transfer market for an alternative to Henry Onyekuru as the Nigeria international could return to his parent club Everton in the next six months or even in January.
Even though Onyekuru has often been criticized by manager Hein Vanhaezebrouck for unnecessary showboating as you would expect from a young player, the fact is the Nigerian has delivered for Anderlecht, topping the goal charts with nine goals after the latest round of matches.
Former Anderlecht striker Gilles De Bilde reckons that the club will encounter problems if Onyekuru returns to Everton.
He told Het Laatste Nieuws : ''In spite of everything, his figures are good, he gets his return, but he is hired and at the end of the season he is basically away or with some bad luck maybe even this winter. So in the long run ... ''
The 20-year-old Onyekuru penned a multi-year contract with Everton in the summer before he was immediately loaned out to Anderlecht after failing to obtain a British work permit.
He is in contention to be included in Nigeria's squad list for the 2018 World Cup.
