Talented Nigerian Midfielder Rated One Of The Best Finishers At Chelsea
Published: December 18, 2017
It has not escaped the notice of Chelsea U18s manager Jody Morris that talented Nigerian midfielder Faustino Anjorin is one of the best finishers in his squad at the moment.
Born November 23, 2001, Anjorin is still a schoolboy at Chelsea and has made an impact off the bench in recent games.
The England youth international replaced Tariq Uwakwe in midfield in the second half of Chelsea's 4-0 win over Scunthorpe United, and tallied his first-ever goal in the FA Youth Cup in the closing minutes.
''It’s not an isolated incident, we always seem to miss plenty of chances and it’s one of the reasons I wanted to put Tino Anjorin on because he’s one of the best finishers in the group,'' Morris told Chelsea's official website.
''We just need to make sure we get a bit more ruthless with teams. We had a similar problem last season in this competition and missed plenty of chances the whole way through before it clicked into gear for the final.
''We know we’ll have to be better against teams that don’t give us as many chances.''
Anjorin has ten appearances to his name in total for Chelsea's youth teams in the U18 Premier League, UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup this season.
