(Photo Confirmation) Mainz Announce 3.8 Million Euros Transfer Of Ujah
Published: December 20, 2017
Mainz 05 have brought back Nigeria international Anthony Ujah to the German Bundesliga, writes the club on their official website.
The 27-year-old has penned a three-and-a-half-year contract, tying him to the Karnevalsverein club until the end of the 2020-2021 season.
Ujah and his new employer have chosen not to disclose the transfer fee, but the very authoritative German newspaper Bild has informed that Mainz agreed to pay Liaoning Whowin 3.8 million euros before the Chinese team shredded their agreement with the Nigerian.
In his first spell with Mainz, the striker scored 2 goals in 17 appearances, after arriving from Lillestrom in Norway, where he was a big hit.
In his first words after inking the deal, Ujah said : ''I am very happy that I return to Mainz because I have only good memories of my time there, I am looking forward to the Bundesliga as well and I want to help the team from the second half of the season to achieve their sporting goals''.
A product of Warri Wolves, Anthony Ujah was previously with Cologne and Werder Bremen before his move to China in the summer of 2016.
