Roma Reject Signing Chelsea Striker, Go For Liverpool Ace
Published: January 23, 2018
Italian club Roma have rejected an approach from Chelsea to sign Michy Batshuayi on loan in the deal taking Edin Dzeko and Emerson Palmieri to Stamford Bridge.
Sky Sports Italia says Roma are not interested in signing the Belgium international striker especially as he's ineligible to play for the club in the Champions League and are mulling over a move for Liverpool ace Daniel Sturridge, who is also attracting big interest from Inter Milan.
Dzeko and Emerson are expected to complete their transfers to Chelsea in the coming days for a total sum of around 60 million euros.
Batshuayi would be allowed to depart The Blues as soon as the Bosnia star is signed, with Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund among the clubs mentioned as his possible destination.
This season, the 24-year-old has recorded 10 goals and 2 assists in 24 matches across all competitions.
Batshuayi was Imoh Ezekiel's strike partner at Standard Liege back in the 2013-2014 season.
