Manchester United's Congolese Born Defender Set To Join Aston Villa
Published: January 25, 2018
EFL Championship outfit Aston Villa are hoping to conclude the signing of Manchester United's Democratic Republic of Congo-born defender Axel Tuanzebe before the close of the transfer window in six days time, according to reports.
Daily Mail claims Aston Villa are aiming to complete Axel Tuanzebe’s loan move from Manchester United in time for this weekend.
A number of clubs were interested in signing the England U21 international but Manchester United legend Steve Bruce has managed to convince him to join Aston Villa.
Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho previously hinted that a loan move was on the cards for Tuanzebe, on the proviso that Eric Bailly recovers from injury.
To date the 20-year-old has made eight appearances for United's first-team since his debut against Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford in an FA Cup clash last January.
The versatile defender joined Manchester United Academy at the age of eight.
