Official: Chelsea's Ghana Left Back Joins Schalke 04 Subject To Medical
Published: January 27, 2018
Schalke 04 are on the brink of completing the signing of Ghana international Baba Rahman, with the German Bundesliga club confirming that he has undergone a medical ahead of his proposed move.
Rahman represented the Gelsenkirchen outfit on loan in the first half of last season and had to be prematurely recalled by Chelsea after suffering a serious knee injury at the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
If the defender passes his medical, he would begin training with Schalke as from next week.
Schalke 04 have already snapped up two players in the January transfer window, Cedric Teuchert and Marko Pjaca from FC Nuremberg and Juventus respectively, and the Ghanaian is set to be their third winter acquisition.
Ahead of Rahman's transfer to the Royal Blues, he trained with Chelsea's reserve team to build up his fitness.
The lively left-back previously represented FC Augsburg and Greuther Fürth, as well as Asante Kotoko and Dreams FC in his homeland.
