English-Born Nigerian Winger Scores, Bags Assist As Tottenham Are Held By West Ham
Published: February 13, 2018
English-born Nigerian winger Keanan Bennetts was on target as Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham in the Premier League 2 on Monday.
Olatunji Akinola and new signing Oladapo Afolayan were included in the Hammers starting line-up , while ex-Chelsea schoolboy Daniel Jinadu was an unused substitute.
Less than three minutes into the game, Spurs took the lead through Bennetts after being teed up by Tracey , but Domingos Quina restored parity on 20 minutes with Afolayan involved in the build up to the goal.
Bennetts set up the second goal scored by Tottenham six minutes later but the points were shared when Marcus Browne converted a spot kick with 13 minutes left on the clock.
Afolayan could have grabbed a late winner for West Ham but Spurs were able to clear before he could pull the trigger.
Ajibola Alese is on international duty with England U17 national team at the 2018 Algarve Tournament and was not involved for West Ham.
West Ham with 22 points occupy the sixth position after 16 matches in the Premier League 2, while their London rivals are tenth with 16 points.
