Why Real Madrid's Ronaldo Will Be Rooting For Argentina To Beat Nigeria On June 26

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has inferred that that he would be cheering for the Argentinian National Team during the 2018 World Cup, saying that his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez has Argentina blood flowing in her veins.

The popular opinion had been that the Portugal captain does not like Argentina as a result of his rivalry with Barcelona's Lionel Messi but that's far from the truth, according to Ronaldo while answering questions on Instagram on Tuesday.

When Nigeria face off with Argentina at Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg on June 26, it means Ronaldo will be backing the South Americans and not the three-time African champions.

''My girlfriend is from Argentina.  Many people do not know that.  Some people think I do not like Argentina, but I do ... A LOT,'' said Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been dating Georgina Rodriguez for over a year and they have a baby daughter named Alana Martina.

Nigeria and Argentina have met four times in the World Cup, with the two-time world champions winning by a one-goal margin on each occasion.
